This short video was recorded on the day the journey began.
Before the first brushstroke.
Before the first mirror was placed.
Before the story unfolded.
It serves as an invitation into the intention behind this piece and the experiment known as Mandalas Moving Mountains.
Many Reflections, One Light began as a question:
What becomes possible when we remember that we belong to one another and together, we are stronger than when divided?
Many Reflections, One Light began with a simple observation:
Communities thrive when people remember they belong to one another.
In a world increasingly focused on division, this piece asks a different question:
What becomes possible when we focus on connection?
Created in support of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department, this mandala is a reflection on the countless ways a healthy community is built—not by any single person, organization, or institution, but through the daily acts of service, kindness, stewardship, generosity, and courage offered by ordinary people.
The mirrored elements throughout the piece represent those reflections.
A neighbor helping a neighbor.
A volunteer answering a call.
A community gathering around a shared purpose.
A simple act of care that ripples outward.
Each reflection stands alone.
Together, they become something greater.
As the viewer moves around the mandala, they become part of the artwork itself, appearing within the mirrors and joining the story.
Because community is not something we observe.
It is something we create & prosper together.

Two days.
That's how long I've spent preparing this board before placing a single dot.
Designing. Redesigning. Making mistakes. Correcting mistakes. Choosing colors. Changing colors. Living with the pattern long enough to know whether it still feels true the next morning.
Then comes the moment… placing the first dot near the center reflection. Every time, it feels scary AF. Every time, it feels powerful.
Because that's the moment a possibility becomes a commitment. An idea becomes reality. Manifestation. Creating something from nothing. That’s power.
This mandala is called Many Reflections, One Light.
It's being created for the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department and will be auctioned on June 28 as part of Mandalas Moving Mountains: Where Art Becomes Action.
The opening bid is $100.
My hope is simple: That this project travels farther than our little town.
That people who believe in community, stewardship, and supporting the folks who show up when we need them most will help carry this story.

For those who have known me over the years, welcome back and thanks for still being here. I have navigated quite the transformation these last few years so I may be…”different.” For those who are new here, welcome to The Country Storehouse…it’s my vision for a wellness farm offering space as a mental/emotional respite, creative exploration, & communal gathering.
This page is becoming a place to share the good things happening in our corner of the world, Trinity County …from both in-person and online creative projects, community gatherings, Eagle's Nest conversations, stewardship efforts, local collaborations, and the people helping Trinity County thrive.
I'm still finding my footing here, but it feels good to be back.
Which brings me to a question I've been sitting with lately to start with:
What if one person's work of art, could help a community thrive? (asking for a friend
Honestly, I don't know the answer to that yet, but something in me tells me it’s possible and the first real creative “mission” of the Country Storehouse Studio…how can art from the heART unify community?
Who knows, but what I do know is that I have some dotting tools, paintbrushes, a peaceful studio-farm nestled in the forests of Trinity County, a deep love for this community, and a willingness to experiment with creating a movement that opens up new economic opportunities for our community. Starting with exchanging ART for DONATIONS & SPONSORS to our local, volunteer fire department via….an online/community art auction.
Right now that experiment looks like a 26" mandala called "Many Reflections, One Light," being created for the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser.
The idea is simple.
Could the story of a piece of art travel beyond our little mountain community? Could people follow the journey, share it, place bids from wherever they happen to be, and help support the volunteers who show up when our community needs them most? (Which is everyday, cause they don’t just show up when there is a fire….my friends got called TWICE in one night this week alone….all VOLUNTEER!!)
So, I am willing to ask for global support for them. I’m willing to exchange my time, energy, & talent to throw something out there to “see what sticks."
Honestly though, I don't know where this is going…ANY donation helps our department, but this mandala is worth AT LEAST $500, so a $500 bid? I’d be stoked! A $1500 bid…I’d be quite proud to deliver that to our fire department….that gets them SAFETY gear, so its significant during fire season!
OR, it takes ONE LIGHT out there that has stupid-gobs of money looking for a cause and throw down a million + “for the hell of it,” and CHANGE OUR LIVES IN TRINITY COUNTY forever….I mean, change the longevity and safety for our community AND change the life of a “closet” artist that has a hard time seeing her own value in her art.
It’s a WILD dream, I get that, but not impossible….and even the smallest of donations is a WIN for ALL of us, so why not?!
So, have some mercy on a girl who lives on a wing and a prayer! It comes with a lot of judgement, but creatives fail forward constantly…
That said, If you’ve ever felt lost in an idea, but devoted to it even though you have no idea where it’s going, that’s what this page is about….fumbling forward and creating our way to a THRIVING community in Trinity County. We do that by being a reflection of willingness, peace, creativity, balance, & a devotion to evolve our County from “being the poorest in California,” to being a reflection of communities who rise together, thrive together.
So, back to this Mandala, that’s what I love most about it is that it reflects what I believe to be true about Trinity County...
We're not perfect.
We don't always agree.
But when it matters, people show up.
Neighbors help neighbors.
Volunteers serve quietly.
Communities gather.
And somehow, through all our differences, we keep finding ways to take care of one another. That's the spirit I'm trying to paint.

Update #5:
It started with a blank board.
A question.
And a whole lot of faith.
"What if art could become an act of service?"
Over the past few days, you've watched "Many Reflections, One Light" come to life—one brushstroke, one reflection, one update, (all 4 of them) at a time.
This weekend, it sold at the auction for $750, with every dollar supporting the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Department.
But the money wasn't the only gift.
This project reminded me why I chose this path in the first place.
I truly believe that creativity can bring people together. It brought me back together from some seriously dark places.
It showed me that in rural America, community is still willing to show up for each other because, we rely on the notion that when we leave our differences at the door, we can move mountains together….(and when we do enough together, the differences don’t matter most days…)
So, sometimes the biggest thing we create isn't the artwork at all...
...it's what the artwork makes possible. Its the energy it creates... no matter how imperfect it is.
Art is a journey of the heART, and this one was nothing less than that for me.
